Get the ntfy app here if you don’t already have it.

Go to the app store of your phone’s flavor,
Search for and download ntfy to your device.

Current Subscribers - To change your app to the new ntfy server and topic.

Open your ntfy app,
Click on the topic named "FWD",
Click on the circle in the upper right corner of the screen and then select the "Unsubscribe" item,
Confirm your intention to unsubscribe by clicking on ,
Follow the steps below (Configuring the ntfy app).

Configuring the ntfy app

Open your ntfy app,
Click the icon in the bottom right corner of the app,
In the General Section, change the default server to https://ntfy.wx5fwd.net,
Click "Save" and then return to the screen.
Click on the "+" symbol in the upper right corner,
Enter the ntfy case sensitive topic name found in the table above, that suits your area of interest (e.g., NCTCOG),
Enable the for "Use another server,"
Enter https://ntfy.wx5fwd.net for the Service URL and press .

I run iOS and my screen is not refreshing, what now?

Be aware there is a known issue with the iOS app where the Notification Screen may not show the correct count of alerts, or tell you there are no alerts. The author is unfamiliar with how to program the screen refresh on iOS. You can try pulling down the screen to see if the screen refreshes. It may or may not.

Phone Settings > Notifications > NTFY,

Banner Style: Temporary
Notification Grouping: Off
Default server URL (no trailing slash): https://ntfy.wx5fwd.net

Subscribing to a ntfy Topic using a web browser

Open the browser of your choice and proceed to ntfy.wx5fwd.net,
Click on "Subscribe to topic,"
Enter the ntfy case sensitive topic name found in the table above, that suits your area of interest, and then press .
To quickly subscribe to a topic using your web browser, simply click on one of the topic links above.

SMS text messages and email are not supported.

Due to the cost and delivery issues, we do not offer these notifications over SMS text messaging or email. Only the ntfy application is supported. If you qualify, similar alert messaging for weather products may be available from inws.ncep.noaa.gov. Also refer to www.weather.gov/enterprise/sw-alerts-text-1b.
